New Year Celebration 2023 Event

Background

MAS-SSF held a successful and exciting New Year 2023 event on Friday, January 20th, at Citrus Heights Community Center. This event was held as part of MAS-SSF’s Community Education program. Below are some details of the event:

Key highlights include

  • 600 registrants
  • Close to 500 attendees
  • Delicious food
  • Raffle & gift card prizes
  • Live Afghan Music by newcomer refugee musicians
  • Presentation on all of MAS-SSF’s activities & response to the Afghan Crisis from August 2021.

The goals of this event include educating immigrants & refugees about the following:

  • How to access services & get support
  • How to feel less lonely
  • How to manage daily stressors & challenges
  • How to adjust with your children in a new education system
  • How to feel safe
  • How to manage a crisis
Some of our noteworthy attendees include:
  • Government partners from the state, county & city of Sacramento
  • Nonprofit partner agencies
  • Mosques, school districts & community leaders
