MAS Social Services Foundation (MAS-SSF) established the Amanah Program to provide a lifeline to women experiencing abuse, helping them find safety, regain peace of mind, and rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.
Through our partnership with My Sister’s House, a local organization supporting survivors of domestic violence, we established Amanah House, a culturally responsive safe haven for women and children seeking refuge from abuse.
Although Amanah House closed its doors in 2026, our commitment to the women and families who depend on us remains unwavering. The Amanah Program continues to serve women in crisis, providing compassionate, culturally competent, and linguistically appropriate support during some of life’s most difficult moments.

- Crisis Response & Emergency Assistance: Immediate support, safety planning, and assistance securing short-term shelter or temporary accommodations.
- Case Management & Advocacy: Personalized guidance, connection to community resources, and support navigating challenging circumstances.
- Mental Health & Emotional Wellness: Culturally responsive counseling, peer support, and services that promote healing and resilience.
- Essential Needs & Transportation: Halal meals, groceries, transportation assistance, and other necessities that help women and children regain stability.
- Long-Term Stability & Empowerment: Ongoing support connecting women to housing, resources, and opportunities to rebuild independent, secure futures.

Domestic Violence Continues To Rise
Sacramento is home to Muslims from all over the world.
Unfortunately, in addition to the trauma endured back home and covid, domestic violence continues to be a rising challenge for all. Sacramento is receiving over 10,000 refugees from Afghanistan. Refugees from Syria, Iraq, and other countries have and continue to arrive.
African-American and African immigrants or refugees make Sacramento their home.
